Minnesota Gophers Hockey Game

Over Thanksgiving break I had the opportunity to go to my first college hockey game, which was the Minnesota Gophers against Denver. I went the University of Minnesota to visit a high school friend, and we ended up getting tickets to the hockey game. I walked into the arena and was amazed at how big of an arena it was for a college hockey team. People began to pour into the arena and the game ended up being sold out. Hockey is my favorite sport to watch, and I was excited to finally watch the Gophers play. They took the ice for the first period and the crowd erupted in cheers. From the beginning of the game to the end of the game the crowd was relentless. They had a variety of cheers for every situation. They sang songs, taunted the other team, yelled and screamed; it was a great environment for a sporting event. Minnesota played a great game and won by the score of 4-0. The player of the game was the goalie, Alex Kangas, who happens to be from my home town of Rochester Minnesota. I'm planning on going to a few more hockey games over Christmas break.
